Salads, pizza, pasta, soups, sandwiches, poultry, meat, seafood, small plates … you’ll find them all in good numbers and decent prices at this red hot downtown L.A. spot. The place is packed for weekday lunches. And it’s convenient also for a fairly quick but good dinner on the way to Staples Center for a Lakers game or the close by ESPN Zone or L.A. Live theaters and clubs.

Breakfasts and brunch in the main room are weekends only, as testament to the resurgent downtown residential scene.

I love to start with an assortment of small plates to be shared – roasted peppers, Brussels sprouts, roasted beets with goat cheese. These and more can be noshed while waiting for the main course or stretched into sides with the main course.

What’s really special is the eclectic nature of the menu. From carnivore to vegetarian, there are ample offerings on the menu for everyone in your party.

And for an extra incentive, there’s a gourmet market and bakery at the front of the front, where breakfast is available weekdays. How about bacon and fried eggs with cheese on a Kaiser roll for just $6? Or baked goods to make your head spin.
